María Claudia Tarazona, widow of Senator Miguel Uribe Turbay, has made public allegations linking senior Colombian officials and the Venezuelan government to her husband's killing.

In an interview with Caracol Televisión filed 21 October, Tarazona stated the order to kill her husband came from the Colombian Congress. She said funding for the assassination originated in Venezuela.

In a separate interview with La FM filed 22 October, Tarazona directly stated Gustavo Petro ordered the killing and had allied with Venezuela's Maduro regime for the act.
